St Michael & All Angels Church, Wallington – Refurbishment

St Michael’s church is a Grade II listed building built in 1906. Its’ architect W.D. Caroe (1857 – 1938) was noted for his imaginative treatment of the Gothic style of which St Michael’s is a good example. However, work now needs to be done to the exterior fabric to restore it to its 1906 condition.

Restoration of areas of the external brickwork and stonework, tiling and roofing, rainwater goods, door and window repairs / redecoration and the installation of a roof tower fall restraint system, as well as the necessary scaffolding and protection. All of the works proposed have been identified by the church architect in his most recent (2018) Quinquennial Inspection as being necessary to maintain the building in a good state of repair for future generations.
