St Nicholas Church, Folkestone – Improved Facilities (10093/D)

The project aims to create new facilities to enable increased community use of the church. Currently, there are no kitchen or toilet facilities, only a cold tap in the vestry. The heating boiler is expensive to run and inefficient as well as poorly located, plus the layout of the church limits the range of activities we can offer. A small extension accessed from the lobby of the church will house a fully accessible toilet. A very large old heating boiler will be removed from the centre of the vestry and replaced with a smaller, modern and more efficient boiler. A small kitchen facility, including cupboard space, will be installed in the vestry. Additionally, pews to the North aisle of the church will be removed to create a space that can be used flexibly for functions and community use.
The Trust grant will contribute towards the improved facilities.
