St Nicholas City Garden

The roof of the St Nicholas Centre is a prime location for a vibrant, accessible public space, set away from traffic corridors and shop frontages. . The space was opened on 3rd October 1985 (almost 30 years ago) and is now tired and in need of a refresh. The shrub planting is overgrown and provides little habitat value and seasonal variation, and much of the space is either unused or unusable. This makes it a place that people only pass through as a necessity. We want to make it a destination in its own right, a small oasis in the centre of the city. An additional element to the planned work is the inclusion of a childrens play area, and it is help with the cost of this element that is requested from Aberdeen Forward.
