St Peters Centre – Repointing, stonework and General Building Fabric Repairs

This is a proposed capital improvement project at St Peter’s Centre, Mansfield. St Peters is a thriving Community Centre based in the heart of Mansfield, situated adjacent to St Peter’s Church, which has provided educational facilities for the population in some form or another for over 300 years.
The management committee were becoming increasingly concerned about the decline in the building’s structural fabric and the implications, should this not be rectified, to the continuation of its educational and support role in the community. Therefore they requested the Church architect to carry out a survey.
The architects have identified the need for re-pointing, replacement of decayed stonework and brickwork repairs to each elevation, remedial and improvement to the timber sash windows, repair and renewal of clay tile roofs, relaying of lead sheet valley gutters, renewal of abutment flashings, and refurbishment of cast iron and lead sheet surface water gutters and down-pipes.
