St Peter’s Church Duxford

To replace the temporary felt roof of St Peter’s Church Duxford (Grade I listed) with terne-coated stainless steel. In 2019 all the lead sheeting was stolen from the north aisle, south aisle and porch roofs at St Peter’s Duxford. Fortunately, the lead roof to the nave was not stolen. Emergency repairs took place as soon as possible to ensure the church was watertight with the installation of temporary roofing felt. This felt is now to be replaced with the permanent steel covering, and the works will include pointing repairs using hydraulic lime mortar, lead flashings, capping and apron, treated timber battens, marine plywood, breathable wood fibre insulation boards, insect mesh, building paper, stainless steel guttering with underlay, geotextile polyester fibre acoustic underlay, roof boarding repairs and Compacfoam insulation.
