St Peter’s Church, Maidenhead – Community Room and Garden Improvements (2873/D)

During the 1970s and 1980s the pressure for additional community activity resulted in the addition of two meeting rooms at the east end of the church; but they have proved to be less than adequate. Growing engagement with local people and determination to contribute to building a thriving local community has led the church to new plans for the future. This rebuilding is now underway but in order to save costs we decided to undertake a lot of the fit out ourselves including completing fitting out the two upstairs meeting rooms, fitting out the community kitchen and general decorating.
This phase includes the landscaping of the grounds for the enjoyment of the community and to benefit wildlife. This will involve small areas of lawn where children and young people can play games, planting including shrubs, bulbs and 14 trees, and a path to the main door of the extension.
The Trust grant is a contribution towards the garden improvements.
