St Philips Church, nr Stoke-on-Trent – Roof Project (40198/D)

The project is the renewal of the church roof which is leaking. The existing roof tiles will be removed, so that new laths, breathable roofing felt and suitable insulating material can be installed. The whole of the original church roof needs to be renewed in this way. Most of the original tiles will be re-used, but second-hand tiles will be purchased to replace any which cannot be re-affixed. Inside the building, metal spurs will be fitted to the end of the internal beams, where they enter the chancel gable wall, which has been affected by water seepage. An area of plaster on this internal gable wall will require removal, replacement and repainting.
