St Thomas Community Hall Kitchen Upgrade

Proposals to improve and extend St Thomas’s Community Hall to attract a greater diversity of local community users were initiated in 2006. Hardly had initial plans been prepared and public consultation commenced when, in May 2007, the Hall suffered an arson attack, rendering the premises unusable. This setback offers a unique, time critical opportunity to undertake upgrades to several aspects of the Hall simultaneously with fire reinstatement work (covered by insurance).

Upgrading the kitchen will supply professional standard catering facilities to support Hall activities, providing:
improved facilities to service a greater diversity of groups;
reduced energy use and greater comfort to all users;
additional revenue and reduced costs (through greater efficiency) to generate funds for further work to develop the Hall’s outreach.
Redesign of the kitchen also crucially lays the physical foundations for later developments.
