Stabilisation of the Guise Mausoleum, The Mausolea and Monuments Trust

The aim of this project is to stabilise the ruins and arrest any further decay of The Guise Mausoleum in Gloucester which is one of the most architecturally significant funerary monuments in the UK. The collapse of the pyramid roof in the early twentieth century left the Mausoleum in a ruinous condition. The Mausolea & Monuments Trust has conducted an extensive study into the feasibility of rebuilding the Mausoleum. By removing and reducing trees in close proximity to the structure, and consolidating the structure by repairing fractured stonework, repointing, and installing soft-capping to the wall heads, stabilisation should be achieved.
