Stabilisation & Remediation Works, Dark Lane Quarry

This project is to reinstate public access to Dark Lane Quarry, following a rockfall in the cutting just west of Porter Lane Bridge in February 2021 which blocked the Steeple Grange Light Railway line and concession path running alongside. Subsequent inspection and preliminary de-vegetating and descaling work on the rock face concerned, revealed that there was a considerable amount of further stabilisation work required before the railway line, the lineside path and other sites could be reopened for public use. This project is for the stabilisation and remediation works necessary to reopen Dark Lane Quarry.
