Stag Theatre auditorium general and safety lighting modernisation, Stag Community Arts Centre, Sevenoaks

This is a project for the upgrade of the theatre lighting at the Stag Theatre in Sevenoaks.The current auditorium lighting dates back to the original refurbishment of the building in 1984. It consists of eleven small individual light fittings using 1000 watt incandescent bulbs. The design of the roof space above the theatre auditorium and the change in legal requirements for access mean that it is not now possible to get at many of the fittings for repair and maintenance. The light given out by these fittings is now very dim and we often get complaints about the level of light for safely accessing seating up and down the stepped auditorium. In addition technology has advanced and energy saving, brighter and more flexible alternatives are available. The intention of this project is to provide an increased level of low energy bright LED based light units which will provide a better level of lighting.
