Staithes Riverside Sensory Garden

The project will create a high quality Sensory Garden in the heart of Allerton Bywater, to benefit the local community. The proposals have been developed and designed in close consultation with local people and stakeholders, involving the people who first identified that the greenspace at Staithes Riverside could provide a much more stimulating environmental resource. The project will provide: 56m2 of new carboniferous limestone footpath; a 19m2 stone setts surfaced seating area; 12 sawn sandstone cube seats in a circular layout; a large sensory sculpture feature in the centre of the seating area; an information board to interpret the history of the site; 12.25m3 new crushed sandstone surface course to existing path; and 131m2 of wildflower planting.
