Stanney Fields Park, nr Ellesmere Port – Improvements (40128/D)

The project aims to enhance two differing but adjoining areas of the park. They will benefit a wide section of park users including persons with limited mobility. The wheels park element includes installation of 3 new ramps and a grind rail. This will extend current provision and provide greater challenge for users and help the need for increasing capacity as current facilities are very popular. The Dell in contrast is an area currently underutilised and lacking an identity. The proposed improvements focus mainly on improving pedestrian access, installation of a bridge over the brook where a desire line has been created by pedestrians. Provision of seating and soft landscaping improvements to naturally enhance the area will provide seasonal interest and easy maintenance. The project has been highlighted by park users collectively as a priority and being able to implement it will meet community needs and raise standards of the park.

The Trust grant will contribute towards the Dell and bridge improvements.
