Stansted Mountfitchet Windmill – Refurbishment

The windmill is a listed grade one by English Heritage and is unique in Essex in that built in 1787 it still retains its original machinery. When the mill was handed over to the parish council it was in poor repair but has slowly been refurbished as funds allow. The mill is in resonable repair but requires refurbishment at a cost of £189k. This is the last phase but one of a series since 1964.
