Stanway Bell Restoration at St Peter’s Church, Stanway

The purpose of the Stanway Bell Restoration is to restore and preserve the historic bells of Stanway for change ringing and to use them to teach local community members to ring and maintain them for the future.
Specifically: Preserve the historic bells as a working artefact that will be available for people to hear, see and use; bring the ring up to modern standards of health and safety, musicality and ease of access by replacing worn-out running gear and machinery. To enhance the ring with the addition of a new bell to complete the instrument. Strengthen, repair and reuse the existing bell framework and train local people to ring and maintain the bells for the future.
