Stanway Victory and Tollgate Halls Venue Improvements, Stanway Village Hall Management Committee, Colchester

This project is for the installation of a hearing loop at Stanway Victory Hall and radiators at Tollgate Hall. Stanway Victory Hall and Tollgate Hall are located on same site but separate buildings. Victory Hall hearing loop in the main hall was installed when the hall was built in 2004. When this was recently checked it no longer met current standards. Improvements to the hearing loop will make it more accessible for those in the community who are hard of hearing. Tollgate Hall was built in 1984 and although the boiler has been replaced twice in the 40 years, the radiators and the temperature valves require updating to current stands to enable more efficient heating. It has become difficult to keep the venue at the required temperature for community users. Following a check the recommendation was to replace the radiators and thermostat valves. This will make it easier to keep warm and be able to control the temperature to ensure money is not wasted on high fuel costs.
