Stayley Cricket Club - Accessible Path to Practice Net Facility

The proposal aims to construct a stone pathway leading to the newly installed practice net facility to ensure safe and accessible access for all users. The existing slope consists of exposed soil, which becomes hazardous during adverse weather conditions.
The pathway will support the objective of promoting inclusivity within the club, particularly for individuals with physical disabilities. In addition to providing access to the practice net facility, the path will serve as the only mobility-accessible route to the pitch along the side of the ground.
The club hosted a Lancashire Disability game in 2024 and intends to further enhance accessibility as part of its long-term development strategy. The installation of this pathway is expected to bring the club’s accessibility standards to an acceptable level.

Anticipated Benefits

Improved Safety: The stone pathway will eliminate the risks associated with navigating a muddy slope, particularly during wet weather.
Enhanced Accessibility: The project will provide a reliable, mobility-friendly route to both the practice nets and the pitch, supporting participation by individuals with physical disabilities.
Increased Inclusivity: By improving access, the club will be better positioned to host disability-friendly events and expand opportunities for all members of the community to engage in cricket.
Long-Term Development: The pathway aligns with the club’s commitment to improving facilities and creating an inclusive environment, strengthening its reputation as a community-focused organization.
