Steart Marshes, WWT - Habitat enhancement project

Steart Marshes habitat creation project will restore over 480 hectares of farmland to a mosaic of biodiversity rich wetland habitats including intertidal mudflats and saltmarsh. Funding is requested for the following aspects of the project - Earthworks - land sculpturing for habitat enhancement, raising 15 areas within the intertidal area, creating 'floating' naturalistic islands, creation of shallow 'gripes' using a rotary ditcher in the intertidal (transitional) habitats, predator-proof fencing, stock fencing for conservation grazing, solar powered water pumps for stock watering and electric cable burial.
