Projects / Stockbridge Town Hall Restoration

Stockbridge Town Hall Restoration

Our overall objective is to provide up to date facilities and restore the structure to a condition in which it can be readily maintained for the use and enjoyment of future generations. The hall has had very little maintenance in the past 80 years and its fabric is old and dilapidated. A particular difficulty has been the lack of disabled facilities, in particular no disabled toilets and no lift. Following a major fund raising effort in the past 3 years, we have succeeded in building a new annex (cost, with fees, about £330,000) which provides new toilets, including disabled toilets on both floors, together with a lift. It was completed this year and has been built to modern standards of decor and insulation. This has emphasized the particularly shabby state of the main hall and it is to this we are now turning our attention.
