Projects / Stockwood Meadows Restoration Project

Stockwood Meadows Restoration Project

Stockwood Meadows consist of two species rich meadows. The sites boundary features and key infrastructure need to be restored to enable the sustainable conservation and management of the meadows, ensuring that they maintain their high quality character and species richness.
Through the project
– 140 m of hedgerow will be restored to provide better habitat for wildlife and to reduce shading of the meadows.
– Meadow flora will be enhanced and safeguarded through installation of an access bridge to allow meadow management of an area isolated by a stream
– 600m of new stock fencing installed to allow grazing management
– Community open day held to promote site access and volunteering
