Storage Container Project, Tibberton District Horticultural Society, Glos

This is a project to fund a storage container for the equipment used by Tibberton District Horticultural Society and the wider community based on the playing field of the Village Hall. During the last eighty years, members of the society have made trestles and four hundred feet of tabling and accumulated a vast amount of show equipment, barbeques, chairs, fridges and large games and stalls. These are available to lend or rent out to local groups to support their own fundraising events. The show requires a large number of resources. Previously all this equipment has been housed in peoples’ homes, barns and the village hall. The families that have traditionally hosted the materials are now downsizing which means a different storage solution is needed. Being based centrally and in one place will also make the use of these resources by the wider community much easier. By removing equipment stored in the village hall, it releases precious storage space for other users of the hall. For example the Tennis Club, Brownies, WI, Football Club, Choir and the Lunch Club all use or store equipment in the village hall.
