Stowmarket MEAL: River Rattlesden NR Perimeter Fencing

In conjunction with Suffolk Wildlife Trust and Natural England, a comprehensive management plan for the site has been developed and has identified the need for stock proof perimeter fencing so that controlled grazing of the whole site can occur. Without such a fence, under grazing of the nature reserve will result in the land reverting to notifiable and other weed overgrowth offsetting the rehabilitation work carried out over the past three years and endangering the BAP and other species found with the nature reserve. When the fencing is completed, livestock, including Red Polls, can be reintroduced into the meadows.
