Straight Road Community Centre Ltd

The project aims to refurbish the Straight Road Community Centre to provide a suitable community venue for a number of local community groups, private hirers (eg children’s parties) and the provision of local adult education. The refurbishment project is as follows: Phase 1: •Replacement windows (existing rotten and single glazed) •Lighting main hall •Various building works including new kitchen, disabled access ramps •Remedial works re damp •Re-siting of electricity meter (currently encroaches on main entrance way) •Purchase of 5 laptops (community learning) •Purchase new signage – interior fire safety/ H&S •Contract carpet flooring (entrance hall – most cost effective method of dealing with existing asbestos tiles) Phase 2: (not yet costed - commencing on completion of Phase 1) •Alteration to internal ceiling support (lobby) •Refurbishment of WCs including disabled toilet •Further disabled access ramps
