Stray Head Banks Extension

Provide public access to new area of woodland that is being purchased and developed by the Woodland Trust to transform into woodland wih public access for walkers, visitors and ramblers.

The site will be purchased for approx £65k and then a £26,520 grant (over two years) will be required to develop the site by carrying out basic ground works and tree maintenance, providing improved access for pedestrians through the installation of gates, styles, fencing, signage and a circular footpath with bridges, seating and rest points for visitors. New trees will also be planted to buffer and protect existing sensitive habitats and enhance the area to encourage more visitors.

The year 1 Yorventure grant, £2,264, will be used to provide basic public access to the site for completion by December 2006.

The year 2 Yorventure grant, £24,256, to carry out the remaining work, will not be required until October/November 2007 for completion by December 2007
