Streatham Common Community Garden

The aim of the project is to preserve and bring back into use the historic site for the benefit of the community so they can enjoy the area and utilise it for food growing and training in green living. The aim of this project is to:
resurface the footpaths to ensure accessibility for all the community
create 1 gathering area that will be used for a range of uses from: an informal market space, seed swaps, seedling sales, a summer show, training and demonstrations, receiving visitors at events and activities etc.
As a result of this the community group will be able to encourage the local community to get involved in a range of gardening activities and volunteer work that will contribute towards rebuilding the communities’ capacity and engagement with the site
