Styal: Quarry Bank Estate – creating access to the River Bollin

The project will improve access in the Northern Woods at Quarry Bank, Styal, near Wilmslow, creating a new accessible path, enabling people of all abilities to explore the beautiful river Bollin and link to the existing wider path network. The project will see the creation of a new pathway, accessible to all, running around a loop in the river through the woods. This new path will connect to an existing accessible path in the adjacent Quarry Bank Garden, providing access for all to walks through the woods and along the river. We have an off-road mobility buggy which currently uses the garden path and will be able to use the new river path as well, offering significant new access. Work will include creating a new accessible for all path, resurfacing some existing paths, clearing undergrowth, waymarking and signage, and habitat enhancements around the paths.
