Sudbrooke – Play Area Safety Fencing

Sudbrooke Parish Council have been approached by Sudbrooke Pre-school Group, wo raised concerns regarding the safety of the play area, as the play equipment is not enclosed by a boundary fence. The pre-school highlighted a potential risk to the safety of the young children in their care, as there are no physical barriers to prevent them from wandering away from the area, to Scothern Lane. This is a main route between the A158 and Scothern. In addition to this, during the winter months the hedgerow bordering the play area dies back and it would be possible for a child to make their way through the hedge and into a fast flowing stream. This village playing field and equipment are an amenity that could be used more fully if safety fencing were installed to ensure the security of all young children.
