Sustainable Forestry

We will purchase forestry equipment to support our woodland management by enabling us to remove and process larger trees. For ecological reasons we do not clear fell and so need a portable sawmill to process the timber into manageable sizes in situ. We will use the timber to make items for use on the nature reserve, for which we need a higher specification sawmill. Surplus timber will be sold to raise an income to finance our general conservation activities. We will run demonstration events using the equipment to show how it is possible to generate an income whilst enhancing the woodland ecology.
