Sustainable Waste Management and the Biotechnology Industry

This proposal aims to remedy the obvious deficit in an understanding of the sustainability and ecological impacts of the biotechnology sector (a key growth sector), especially in relation to waste by focusing on the wastes they produce, the measures they take to manage that waste, the costs it entails for the companies but more especially for the local authorities, waste management companies, and the Welsh Assembly Government. It also aims to tie this understanding into a wider understanding of the sustainability supply chain issues facing the biotechnology industry at a local, regional, national and international level
