Sutton Cheney – Revitalising Bosworth Battlefield

Bosworth Battlefield and Visitor Centre, has been open since 1974, and it is recognised that the Visitor Centre, Battlefield Trail and Catering Facilities need extensive redevelopment.

The aims of the project are as follows;
A four-phase development of the Bosworth site is proposed.

Phase I – The building of a permanent Buttery restaurant incorporating the timbers from a 14th century tithe barn; Phase II – Redeveloping the Battlefield Visitor Centre to create new interpretation and education facilities;
Phase III – Three-year Archaeological Survey to establish the location of the battlefield.
Phase IV – The design of a new Battlefield Trail to interpret the results of the Archaeological Survey.
