Swan Meadow Pond Restoration

This project aims to restore the historic pond at Swan Meadow for the market town of Saffron Walden by repairing the clay lining and replanting with appropriate natural species. The project is part of an ongoing initiative to improve and promote the town by encouraging a sense of well-being and community ownership.

There are few large areas of consistently found open water in the north side of the town. Community groups and local people have told us that Swan Meadow Pond is an important resource for the local community where children and adults can come to learn about the natural world.
