Swanpool Path, Little Wenlock - Path Upgrade (40349/D)

The project aims to upgrade an existing bridleway / footpath, within the village of Little Wenlock, Shropshire. The pathways encompass the popular local "Benchwalks" frequently used by local elderly and children. The "Shropshire Way" runs adjacent to the Swanpool footpath. During many winter months in recent years, the bridleway/footpath becomes unusable due to extensive waterlogged stretches caused by rainwater lying on ground that had been previously opencast mined. This upgrade will ensure that the paths are raised above any standing water. An additional major feature is to provide access to a wider range of users who currently denied due to the existing terrain surface.
