Swavesey Community Pavilion

To install a solar panel system with integrated battery storage at the Swavesey Community Pavilion. Energy costs have more than doubled recently. By generating renewable energy on-site, the Pavilion expects to save approximately £2,094 in the first year alone. Installing a 14.19kW solar photovoltaic (PV) system with 33 solar panels will generate an estimated 12,870kWh of clean electricity annually, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 2,733kg per year. The project aligns with broader environmental goals by decreasing reliance on non-renewable energy sources and contributing positively to the local community’s sustainability efforts

The Pavilion serves as a vital community hub, hosting various activities, including local football matches, children’s parties, fitness classes, and community events such as the Beer and Bubbles Festival. This project will enable the Pavilion to remain open for community use, supporting a diverse range of activities without the burden of high energy expenses. The Pavilion can expand its availability to more community groups and events, providing affordable space for local organisations, educational events, and social gatherings. The Pavilion’s ability to offer a cost-effective venue will encourage more local participation and engagement, creating a stronger community spirit and providing a hub for social cohesion.
