Swillington Village Council Spinmee Inclusive Roundabout for Children’s Playground

The current roundabout at the Children’s playground is faulty and requires replacing. It was discussed and agreed that if possible the Council could replace this piece of equipment with an accessible roundabout. The Spinmee Inclusive roundabout is accessible to those with mobility impairments as well as wheelchair users. Its rotating base is flush with the surrounding safety surface allowing for easy transition between the surfaces. The design of the roundabout allows for both seating and standing users while also featuring 2 locations that can securely accommodate wheelchairs. This equipment has a high play value, it will be wonderful for inclusive play and is proven to improve co-ordination, balance and group play. In addition, safety surfacing by the swings will be replaced to ensure the play area remains safe.
