Tameside Throwing Cage – Growing Local Field Athletes

East Cheshire Harriers (ECH) is the only athletics club in Tameside with track and field facilities; however, its throwing cage no longer meets current England Athletics standards. Funding would enable the cage to be upgraded to restore safe use and support the development of local throwing athletes.
Following installation, the facility will be actively promoted, with an anticipated increase of up to 100 throwing athletes over the project period, alongside the development of additional coaches. The cage will be available at least four evenings per week to club members and the wider community, including other athletics clubs, with on‑site coaching provision.
