Taming Wild Walkeringham

Walkeringham Nature Reserve is a former landfill site, owned by Nottinghamshire County Council, which has been managed by Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust since 1990. We would like to carry out a series of enhancement works to protect the rare lowland neutral grassland and hedgerow habitat (both priority habitats in the Local Biodiversity Action Plan) at the nature reserve. These will include measures to discourage fly tipping which has been an ongoing problem at the nature reserve; having a detrimental effect on the habitat and giving the area an unslightly appearance.
