TANGO Community Garden and Links Project, St Mark’s Church, Haydock, Merseyside

TANGO (Together As Neighbours Giving Out) is a community enterprise established by St Mark’s Church in Haydock to provide support and resources for family and community life, serving the local community and the wider community of St Helens. The subject of this application is the TANGO Community Garden, which is situated on two areas adjacent to and linked to a large designated green open space and cemetery to the rear of St Mark’s Centre. One of the areas has already been developed as a raised bed area, and this is now in full use, with disabled access. However it is missing a link into the open ground area and ICET is being approached to fund this path, together with other linking paths, as part of a network linking all the facilities within the community garden to a refurbished and zoned carpark.
