Tatem Park Playground

Tatem Park is a large space in the middle of one of London’s most deprived wards, it boasts an exciting and interesting cultural Heritage with a history as a gravel mine, ornamental gardens and dinosaur fossils and Mammoth bone finds. It’s this wonderful Heritage that we would like to elaborate, inspiring an innovative project to regenerate the park’s aged and obsolete playground to bring together and transform the lives of old and young in our diverse community. The park has a diverse group of volunteers working together on projects from maintaining the skating track for local youth to creating new biodiversity habitats and meadows overlooking the space. One thing is missing however, a new playground combining heritage and outdoor recreation to create a fun and energetic space for young people in our community. Drawing on the parks rich history to create an amazingly cultural play facility that will bind and build a stronger community with a quality local playground that they can be proud of.
