Tattershall Carrs – An ancient woodland for our native bats

The aims of the project are to create a habitat for bats in this ancient woodland and former RAF base by converting one of the old World War 2 bomb shelters, adapt a number of old sycamore trees and install bat boxes to further enhance the shelter for these animals. The site also suffers from local people riding motorised bikes through the wood which is destroying the ground flora and damaging tree roots. Therefore the Trust would like to install kissing gates to prevent these vehicles accessing the wood
