Tawd Valley Park Community Classroom, Skelmersdale – Roof Repairs, Outdoor Seating and Water Storage (008149)

The Community Classroom at Tawd Valley Park is a wonderful asset to the volunteers and local residents who commit their time to taking care of the Park. The classroom is used to hold local society meetings, education sessions, volunteer groups and can be used by partners to host meetings/courses. The roof of the classroom is in need of serious repair/replacement due to leaks along the seams of the current roof. Unfortunately the leaks are damaging equipment stored inside the building and is affecting the communities ability to use it. This project will refurbish the roof and exterior of the building to ensure that the building remains dry internally and can continue to be used by our partners. The project will also create a more welcoming and environmentally friendly area around the outside of the building and will include seating, planters and micro-SUDS which will manage rainwater and increase biodiversity within the area. Solar panels would be installed on the roof.
