Terrace Hill access and biodiversity Project

This project will provide public access at a key site within the Lagan Valley Regional Park in South Belfast. The park is immensely popular with the citizens of Belfast and Lisburn and further afield. It enjoys huge visitor numbers, the towpath alone counted over 1million visits in 2012. The main element of this project will be the restoration of a very important feature of the garden, the external path and estate fence. The path will be restored and the fence reinstated in keeping with its original design. Restoration of this path will provide much needed access to the wooded slope to the north and east of Terrace Hill with its magnificent views. The inclusion of an access gate in the fence will aid woodland coppicing which is carried out on the slope. The path will create a whole new experience for the visitor. It will also greatly aid access into the lower part of the garden
