Testwood Lakes Access Improvements

We aim to improve the path networks, condition of paths, boardwalks and gated entrances to make Testwood Lakes fully and easily accessible for those with mobility issues, including users of wheelchairs and mobility scooters and for families with pushchairs. Our proposals include:
– Removal of difficult cambers, steep slopes and dips in paths
– Provision of 900 metres of improved and compacted path surfacing throughout the site
– Upgrading of 20 metres of existing boardwalk in order to widen to a working width of 1.2 metres with a secured raised edge
– Improving slope and renovation of the surfacing in and around 7 high mobility kissing gates
– Upgrading the access slope to the sand martin hide to facilitate wheelchair access
– Installing a drop kerb adjacent to the high mobility kissing gate at the main entrance off Brunel Road.
