Teviot and Aberfeldy Estate, Poplar - Restore Communal Green Space (005803)

This project will create a community garden by bringing back into use an abandoned piece of land. Works will remedy the strong impact of the adjacent A12 highway by introducing a green boundary wall and sound barrier made of reused tires and soil. Contribute to local well-being and biodiversity and strengthen the existing community in their effort to establish the site The site will introduce approaches towards environmental practices acting as a pilot project for the circular economy and community scale closed loop systems. Introduce learning opportunities about localised environmental approaches to energy production and consumption and establish and ethos of making and repairing which support the local community.
