Tewkesbury Abbey Restoration Campaign

The PCC proposes to undertake a programme of essential repairs and restoration work to the Abbey building. This includes replacement of guttering and drainage to the Tower Roof to prevent further ingress of water, repointing and replacement of stone to halt the fall of masonry from the Tower walls. Further re-pointing is necessary to the North and South Transepts to repair the effects of the weather and pollution. The programme also includes improved access for disabled parishioners and visitors e.g. new external ramps, an easy-access for disabled parishioners and visitors e.g. new external ramps, an easy-access door, improved internal ramps and repairs to the main path into the Abbey
