The 1940s Manor Oaks Farm Experience – Community Farm

Our project will create a new, accessible 1940s themed farmyard to provide our local community, schools and young people with disabilities & their families with new opportunities to engage with our farm animals & participate in our popular 1940s living history activities. We will move our animals & period activity into a welcoming farmyard which meets modern day standards of welfare, & transports people back to the 1940s in a unique setting run by volunteers, staff and our disabled
clients. The design will ensure everyone can help look after the animals, including those with multiple & complex learning disabilities, in animal shelters with built-in feeding and grooming stations. A large farm barn will provide a new indoor space for group & school activities. Our 1940s volunteers will have a period farmhouse kitchen to expand their work with our local S2 community in bringing history to life on their doorstep throughout the year.
