The Banks O Doon

The project will focus on the environmental enhancement on specific areas, I.e. the riverbanks of the River Doon in South Ayrshire, to facilitate improved access for the community. The project will involve the development of the banks as a wider pubic amenity and will include the construction of footpaths, wetlands, trees, path signage, ponds and watermargins. Ayrshire and Arran FWAG will also work with farmers for improvements to the water quality of the River Doon. We shall organise a demonstration farm, farm walks and a series of community presentations giving the public an insight into farming and the countryside.
