The Beehive – Mens Sheds – Fleetwood

The aim of the project is to refurbish a two storey building in Fleetwood to provide a functional community hub for the west end of Fleetwood. The refurbishment will include creating; a workshop/activity space; internet/IT suite;Small and large meeting room; kitchen; toilets and a drop in community cafe space.

Mens Sheds is an initiative in Fleetwood primarily aimed at men who have mental health and social issues. The aim is create a space where men can meet and feel socially included, make new friends, learn new skills and access help with housing and benefit advice. The Beehive is not exclusively for men, the building is used by other community organisations in Fleetwood.

The west end area of Fleetwood has a deprivation index of 4% making it one of the most deprived areas of England.
