The Brunel Institute: Learning and Conservation Centre

The ‘Brunel Institute’ will be a learning and conservation centre, to promote knowledge and understanding of maritime history, science and engineering and inspire the ‘Brunels’ of our generation. Developed alongside Brunel’s historic steamship, the Brunel Institute will provide a historically sympathetic backdrop. The project will allow relevant items of the Trust’s collection to be properly preserved and safeguarded in the purpose-built facility. The Trust is the custodian of two extensive maritime collections of international significance, to also be housed in the Brunel Institute. The total project and income costs include revenue, and are projected over 5 years to provide sustainability.
