The BTO Infirmary Ruins

In the BTO grounds is the remains of a 12th century grade II* listed building, that formed the Infirmary belonging to a Nunnery. Substantial work has already been done on the entrances to the ruin to progress towards the safe access of the public. This project will consist of the repair and consolidation of the ruin wall tops, through the means of ‘rough racking’, at one end of the ruin. This will allow the walled garden contained within to be opened safely to the public.
