The Burgh Window: stained and leaded glass repair, restoration and conservation

The project is set to make good the weather damage and weaknesses to the 1901 Burgh Window. The lead is weakening, the weight is buckling the glass, the metal supports are rusting in the stone which is decaying and breaking and the window and surrounding stone is porous. This invites more serious deterioration, creates health and safety concerns as well as possible loss to the community of a culturally valuable and historic artefact. A Restricted Fund has been set up to receive funds directly for this work, in the form of donations and income from special events. Repair and restoration of this window is urgent.
